In a resounding endorsement of her tenure, Lisa Townsend has been re-elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey. Residents across the county have shown their trust and confidence in her leadership, reflecting their satisfaction with her achievements and the vision she set forth during her campaign.

Since first being elected three years ago, Lisa Townsend has been a dynamic force in transforming policing in Surrey. Under her stewardship, the county has seen an unprecedented increase in police officer numbers, enhancing community safety and ensuring a robust response to crime.

A cornerstone of Lisa's campaign was her success in securing over £10 million in additional funding. These funds have been instrumental in launching various projects and initiatives aimed at reducing crime and antisocial behaviour throughout Surrey. Her proactive approach has resonated well with the community, meeting the public's demand for more visible and effective policing.

Lisa Townsend's commitment to a "back to basics" policing approach has led to notable reductions in crime rates. By prioritising frontline policing and focusing on core responsibilities, Surrey Police has been able to address the issues that matter most to residents.

Moreover, the re-election campaign highlighted her role in significant national policing reforms, such as the Right Care, Right Person initiative, and her collaboration with the government to tackle antisocial behaviour, including measures like the ban on laughing gas (NOS) canisters. The recent announcement of an additional £1 million funding boost for Surrey is a testament to her effective advocacy and strategic planning. This funding will support "hotspot" policing, targeting areas most in need of intervention.

Looking ahead, Lisa Townsend has pledged to continue her focus on critical areas. She has promised to ensure that Surrey Police concentrate on their fundamental duty—investigating and solving crimes. She emphasises the importance of police officers not being burdened with tasks that detract from their central role, such as excessive time spent on non-crime related incidents.

Lisa is also dedicated to being a strong voice for victims, advocating for their needs throughout the Criminal Justice System and ensuring they receive the support they require. Her commitment extends to making policing more accessible to residents, promising faster and more efficient responses and reducing bureaucratic delays.

As Lisa Townsend embarks on another term as Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner, she is set on building upon her achievements to create a safer and more secure environment for all residents. Her re-election is not just a personal victory but a clear mandate from the people of Surrey to continue the progress and policies that have already brought significant improvements to the community's safety and well-being.

Residents of Surrey can look forward to continued advancements in policing and community safety, with a proven leader at the helm who is deeply committed to delivering results that align with the needs and expectations of the community.

The final ballot results are as follows:

CONSERVATIVE 95,538

LIBERAL DEMOCRAT 82,213

LABOUR 42,813

INDEPENDENT 42,052
