Surrey County Council are excited to announce that the Your Fund Surrey (YFS) Small Community Projects Fund has re-opened week commencing 4 August 2025 until Friday 20 March 2026.

This fund is a powerful opportunity for residents to bring their ideas to life and make a lasting difference in their communities. Since its launch in February 2023, the Small Community Projects Fund has awarded an impressive £6.9 million to over 500 community projects. From solar panels to river safety boats, improved sports facilities, play areas, community gardens and more inclusive and accessible community spaces.

These funded projects have:

  • Made Surrey safer and greener
  • Improved health and wellbeing
  • Brought people together through revitalised community spaces

A list of successfully funded projects can be found here: A list of small projects funded by Your Fund Surrey – Surrey County Council.

Funding is available for one-off simple projects worth between £1k and £50k to support capital community projects. Each Surrey County Councillor has been given £50k Small Community Project funding to allocate to projects in their areas. This is in addition to the Your Councillor Community Fund.

Denise Turner-Stewart, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Customer and Communities said: “We’re really delighted to once again announce the reopening of the Your Fund Surrey Small Community Projects Fund, as it demonstrates our enduring resolve to fund local initiatives that deliver on our residents’ doorsteps. The Small Community Projects Fund makes it much easier for every neighbourhood, in every corner of Surrey to access community funding and we are proud to have enabled such a wide and diverse range of projects since it’s launch in 2023.

A small amount of funding in the right place can make a real difference. Big or small, we know that these funded projects leave a long lasting legacy that help to strengthen and empower communities all over Surrey.

We are looking forward to seeing what ideas come forward for our towns and villages from what will be yet another funding opportunity provided by Surrey County Council. Be sure to speak to your local Surrey County Councillor to discuss how your project might benefit from their £50k of available funds.”

More information about all funding opportunities can be found on the Your Fund Surrey website. You can find your County Councillor on the Surrey County Council website.
