County Councillor for Bookham and Fetcham West
Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Lifelong Learning
  • County Councillors

Clare Curran has lived in Bookham for 20 years with her husband; and their three teenage children all attend local schools.

As Conservative County Councillor and a Mole Valley District Councillor, she has worked hard for the community for the past 12 years.  She is a governor at the Eastwick Schools and at Therfield School in Leatherhead and also a trustee of a local charity.

Reflecting on her role, Clare explained;

“It is rewarding to work alongside Residents’ Associations and other community organisations to help solve local problems and to improve the village environment, amenities and services that we all value.

As Chairman of the SCC Mole Valley Local Committee, I am pleased to have brought about improvements in the maintenance and repair of roads and footpaths in the District, but there is still much to be done to bring them all up to scratch. I have secured approval for much-needed pedestrian crossings in Lower Road, Bookham and Cobham Road, Fetcham and for a 20 mph zone around the Fetcham schools.”

Clare has pledged to continue to support our community, to safeguard our village environment and to work for more road and pavement repair and maintenance.
